When I wrote the story for Breakfast in Bethlehem, I did not know the effect it would have on those who read it. As preparations for Christmas will soon be upon us, Breakfast in Bethlehem is gaining popularity. I have been invited to many events celebrating the book from Christmas open houses at book stores to actual “Breakfasts in Bethlehem” events.
One parish in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Prince of Peace Parish, will be hosting a special event for children in which Breakfast in Bethlehem will be read. The event wouldn’t be “Breakfast in Bethlehem” unless breakfast food was provided. One of the themes in the story includes bringing families together to share faith and food. I never envisioned that parishes would use the book to live out a theme contained within the text.
Consider asking your parish to host a Breakfast in Bethlehem event this Advent and order a copy of the book for the event from edwardlooneybooks.com. See below what Prince of Peace is doing!
